Olympia Maximatic and the demise of the Fluid-o-Tech 110V pump

It seems that Fluid-o-Tech no longer produces a 110V/120V vibe pump. I have been modifying Olympia Maximatic's to use the ubiquitous Ulka pump.

Steps:

  1. Remove the old pump
  2. Remove the teflon line that delivers water from pump to the solenoid valve / HX.
  3. Remove the electrical block that plugs into the pump -- Install fast-on connectors to the hot and neutral wires no ground needed)
  4. Remove the elbow and check valve from the old pump and install on the Ulka.
  5. Use a 1/8" to 1/8" braided tube (repurposed Rancilio Silvia supply tube) to connect check valve to solenoid valve stem (potential to re-use the teflon tube here).
  6. Inserting the Ulka in the space is very tight. It will take some maneuvering to get it in correctly and hanging on the existing pump cradle.
  7. Use new silicone tube to supply water from reservoir to pump inlet.
