The Dr. working on his patient.
We had an old Olympia Maximatic espresso machine in the shop this week.
This one was badged by Pasquini - but it's exactly the same as the Maxi's we have serviced.
On these older modlels it's not uncommon to have pinhole leaks develop in the boiler just around the heating element. The replacement boiler part is simply not produced so it demands a solder patch job. Luckily our lead tech Dale is up to the job. He acid baths the affected area and carefully applies a small patch of lead free solder to each hole. We have seen some boilers with multiple holes. Then the unit is pressure tested to make sure he didn't miss anything.
Close up of boiler repair on Maximatic.
All done - ready to go home.
